John Beargrease Sled Dog Marathon

The John Beargrease Sled Dog Marathon traces the same rugged trail once traveled by Ojibwe mail carrier John Beargrease, who delivered mail along Lake Superior’s North Shore in the late 1800s.
Today, mushers from across the continent test themselves against that same terrain — honoring a man, a culture, and a tradition carved into Minnesota’s history.
