Born and raised in the region, Streeper's journey into the world of dog sledding commenced 22 years ago when he participated in his inaugural Fur Rendezvous (Fur Rondy) race. In 2004, he secured his first title, marking the inception of a prolific racing career.

Notable among his victories are stage and mid-distance races like the International Pedigree Stage Stop Sled Dog Race and the Eagle Cap Extreme. Streeper's prowess in sled dog racing is exemplified by his recent ninth Fur Rendezvous title in 2023.
